Sigma Delta Tau’s national philanthropy is Jewish Women International, an organization fighting gender-based violence, preventing domestic violence and sexual abuse, addressing the intersection of domestic violence and gun violence, and building pathways to long-term economic security.

Jewish Women International (JWI) equips Sigma Delta Tau chapters with prevention-focused programming aimed at building safer, more respectful Greek communities. JWI collaborates with students to develop education around sexual assault and dating violence prevention—teaching the importance of consent, encouraging bystander intervention, offering guidance on how to support a friend who discloses an assault, recognizing signs of unhealthy relationships, and fostering a culture grounded in respect. In partnership with SDT, JWI has reached over 4,000 Greek life students through initiatives like Safe Smart Dating, an interactive workshop that has been brought to nearly 50 campuses across the country.

Through fundraising, educational programming, and advocacy, SDT members actively contribute to JWI’s mission to create a safer world for women and girls.

Our goal is to not only strengthen the philanthropic impact of both organizations but also instill a lifelong dedication to social responsibility in SDT’s members.

Sigma Delta Tau’s second national philanthropy is Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA), an organization fighting to prevent the abuse and neglect of our nation’s children.

As a proud participant of the UT Austin “West Fest” philanthropy, SDT hosts an “All You Can ΣΔΤ” event, where all proceeds go to PCAA.

Since 1982, Sigma Delta Tau collegiate and alumnae women have raised more than $5 million to help prevent child abuse and neglect. SDT chapters raise funds through various on campus fundraiser events. 100% of the funds raised by SDT chapters go to the PCA America national office through an annual gift from the SDT Foundation.

The Sigma Delta Tau Foundation is committed to empowering SDT sisters to grow personally and professionally through annual scholarship opportunities, essential funding of Sigma Delta Tau educational programs, and influential charitable giving from alumnae, collegians and friends of Sigma Delta Tau.

In 2022, the Sigma Delta Tau Foundation surpassed one million dollars directly invested into our sisterhood. This milestone includes financial assistance for sisters through initiatives including our national scholarship program, One Hope hardship grants and annual program grants to help the SDT sorority provide impactful member experiences. The ripple effect is even greater as financial assistance from the Foundation has eased the burden for sisters, parents, chapters and our beloved sorority.

During the 4th of July floods in the Texas Hill Country, the Sigma Delta Tau Foundation was able to support relief efforts by aiding affected sister in the region.
